چکیده

This study aimed to enhance the removal of petroleum with potent biosurfactant producing bacterial strains (Bacillius subtilis CC9, Enterobacter asburiae WMB1, Klebsiella oxytoca Rizhao 536-1, and Acinetobacter pittii PgBE252) isolated from an oil field. The production was determined by different screening methods such as hemolytic activity, drop-collapse, spreading, BATH, emulsification index surface tension. While presence detected individual strain, B. CC9 strain found be quite effective on degradation (92%) a high yield (0.95 ±0.05 g L-1). rate constant half-life period were calculated K = 2.533 day−1, t1/2 0.273. It has been clearly shown GC/MS analysis that long chain n-alkanes (C31 - C35) well short medium chains. FT-IR also approved aliphatic peptide moieties extracted strain. is remarkably pointed out this can used in advanced bioremediation studies alternative chemical surfactants.

Enhanced hydrocarbon biodegradation by a newly isolated Bacillus subtilis strain.

The relation between hydrocarbon degradation and biosurfactant (rhamnolipid) production by a new Bacillus subtilis 22BN strain was investigated. The strain was isolated for its capacity to utilize n-hexadecane and naphthalene and at the same time to produce surface-active compound at high concentrations (1.5 - 2.0 g l(-1)). Biosurfactant production was detected by surface tension lowering and e...

Optimization and characterization of biosurfactant production by Bacillus subtilis isolates towards microbial enhanced oil recovery applications

Biosurfactant production by three Bacillus subtilis strains (#309, #311 and #573) isolated from Brazilian crude oils was optimized based on different carbon and nitrogen sources. The lowest surface tension values were obtained using sucrose containing media for the three isolates. Biosurfactants produced by each strain were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), proton...

Draft Genome Sequence of the Biofilm-Producing Bacillus subtilis Strain B-1, Isolated from an Oil Field

We report here the draft genome sequence of the Bacillus subtilis strain B-1, a strain known to form biofilms. The biofilm matrix mainly consists of the biopolymer γ-polyglutamate (γ-PGA). The sequence of the genome of this strain allows the study of specific genes involved in biofilm formation.

Performance of a biosurfactant produced by a Bacillus subtilis strain isolated from crude oil samples as compared to commercial chemical surfactants.

In this work, the biosurfactant produced by a Bacillus subtilis strain isolated from crude oil samples was characterized and its properties compared with commercially available chemical surfactants. The purified biosurfactant production yield (Y(P/X)) was 0.20 g/gcell dry weight. The surface tension (29.0 mN/m) and critical micelle concentration (40 mg/l) were found to be similar to the values ...
